Nil alcohol for provisional and probationary licence holders

Previously in Queensland, holders of provisional and probationary licences were subject to a nil-alcohol restriction only if they were under 25 years old. However recent legislative changes have enlarged this so that it does not matter what age the provisional or probationary licence holder is.

So what does this mean for you? Basically, you are not allowed to drive with any alcohol in your system whatsoever if you are the holder of a provisional or probationary licence, regardless of whether you are 17 or 70. Therefore to be on the safe side, if you are the holder of a provisional or probationary licence and you think that there is ANY chance that you might have some alcohol in your body before you drive, you should play it safe and make other arrangements.
